First Steps for New Contributors

If you are joining the Mr. DLib team, please do the following

1. Register a new Confluence/JIRA Account
2. Tell the project lead (Joeran Beel) your account name and email address (send him an email)
3. Read the Copyright Agreement and send an email to the project lead. Copy the text of the Copyright Agreement and state in your email that you agree. If you don't agree, send an email with your concerns so we can discuss them . 
4. The project lead will add you to the appropriate Jira/Confluence user group, so you have access to all relevant information in the WIKI
5. Upload your photo to your Confluence's profile https://isgroup.atlassian.net/wiki/users/viewmyprofile.action
6. Upload your photo to your JIRA profile https://isgroup.atlassian.net/secure/ViewProfile.jspa
7. Once you received notive about being added to the confluence groups, familiarize your self with the WIKI. In particular, 
   1. read
   • • Coding Guidelines
     • Best Practices (Communication, File Exchange, ...)
     • Confluence, Introduction & Best Practices
     • Ticket/Task Management
   1. Add your personal details to the/wiki/spaces/MDL/pages/7543605
8. After you added your details to the member's page the project lead will 
   1. add you to the Mr. DLib GitHub repository. We would appreciate if you make your membership public. You can do this here: at https://github.com/orgs/Mr-DLib/people/Your_Username
      
   2. give you write access to our Dropbox folder for the team photos https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vgh48scqzdj3gux/AABlBOFQTMHPP1GTBKAMMzRxa?dl=0. Please upload your photo to that folder. We will then add it to our website http://mr-dlib.org/about/
9. If you discover some errors in the WIKI, fix them . (there should be an "Edit" button on the top right corner of each page)
